چکیده
Purpose: Normal data for red cell distribution width (RDW) values in newborns are limited and inconsistent; these have been interpreted according to adult most routine blood counts. The aim of this study is evaluate the effects gestational week on newborns. Materials methods: demographic characteristics complete count (CBC) babies admitted our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit between 2017-2019 were evaluated retrospectively. Newborns categorized as full-term group (gestational weeks ≥37) or preterm <37). mean age, birth weight, sex ratio, hemoglobin (Hb), hematocrit (Hct) corpuscular volume (MCV) recorded RDW compared both groups. Results: population included 485 infants, comprising 250 235 babies. age was 38.5±1.3 weeks, weight 3198±478g, with 7.2% small (SGA) (n=18). 32.5±3.4 2015±815 g, 5.5% SGA (n=13). (16.1±1.5) significantly higher than (15.8±1.3) (p=0.011). groups, but there no significant difference (p>0.05). Conclusion: Red (RDW), an index differential diagnosis neonatal hematologic diseases, has recently found be associated inflammation. In study, statistically These findings may useful prediction together other parameters.
